Applixware is a highly scalable enterprise UNIX, Windows, and Linux based application development environment with pre-built integrated modules such as a word processor, a RealTime event driven spreadsheet, programmable vector graphic tool, database interface, and much more.

image Additional modules or entire applications can be created with both a macro development environment called Builder and an OO RAD IDE, allowing for example database access, external C programs and TCP/IP socket communication. The low resource requirements of Applixware enable high performance on low-end and legacy hardware, and the Unix and MS Windows ports simplify cross platform development. The languages supported are English, German, French and Japanese.

Unlike Excel™, the event-driven spreadsheet was conceived for real time data manipulation. It allows for very large spreadsheets working in conjunction to Vistasource's high availability RealTime engines to access the principal financial data distribution systems, as well as offering an open door to other data feeds and vendors.
